Johannesburg, June 9, 2020: The Conference of Parties (CoP) of the African Risk Capacity (ARC) has elected Mr. Ibrahima Cheikh Diong, of the Republic of Senegal as the new ARC Group Director-General, for a term of four (4) years.
Johannesburg, le 21 mai 2020 : La Société d’assurance de l’ARC (ARC Ltd) a nommé deux nouveaux directeurs non-exécutifs, M. Jürgen Meisch et M. Phillip Pettersen qui, en rejoignant son Comité de direction, apporteront leurs conseils et une surveillance stratégiques à ses opérations.
Les nouveaux directeurs se sont joints à un groupe d'autres experts dirigés par M. Abdoulie Janneh et le Dr Frannie Leautier, respectivement président par intérim et présidente suppléante.
Johannesburg, May 21, 2020: The African Risk Capacity Limited (ARC Ltd) has appointed two new Non-Executive Directors (NEDs), Mr Jurgen Meisch and Mr. Phillip Pettersen, to join its Board of Directors to bring independent strategic guidance and oversight to its operations.
The new directors joined a group of other industry experts led by Mr. Abdoulie Janneh and Dr Frannie Leautier who serves as interim Chair and as alternate Chairperson, respectively.

Humanitarian agencies in Senegal are this week distributing aid as part of an early response to food shortage, which has been caused by the late onset of rainfall last year. This early action will help alleviate the suffering of those affected and reduce the need for them to resort to negative coping actions such as taking children out of schools, eating their seeds, and migrating or selling their farming implements.
