The NAP-GE provides a framework within which the Ethiopian government will advance its commitment to gender equality ; employing the gender mainstreaming approach introduced in the 1995 BPA and its Beijing+5 update, and is expected to inform the PASDEP significantly.
It is expected that the envisaged integration of the plan into PASDEP as well as government commitment to gender-sensitive budgeting is an undertaking believed to result in a change of gender relations. The needs/problems identified during the situation analysis have been the locus for the formulation of the strategic objectives, the fulfilment of which is believed to narrow the gender gap that exists between men and women.
The action plan is developed in a framework of : where we are, where we want to go, and how we get there.
