Mozambique Gender and Disaster Risk Management Training of Trainers Workshop
The workshop had two (3) objectives :
- To equip TWG members and ARC partners with tools for mainstreaming gender in DRM,
- Create a Gender, Advocacy and Communication sub-group, and
- To set up the national network of ToT in Gender and DRM.
The workshop was highly interactive. The trainer prioritized practicing skills and methods that participants can use to apply gender mainstreaming to their work.
The trainer demonstrated credibility with the trainees and was familiar with the responsibilities and constraints involved in their work. Various training tools were used, and empathy among workshop participants was enhanced.
All the ToT workshop participants were awarded certificates of attendance. The certificates were handed over by Mrs Nadia Morar, the Government Coordinator of the ARC program.
Mr. Adelto Chambela, the Director of Social and Environmental Safeguards and Gender Division in INGD formally closed the workshop and took the opportunity to inform the participants about the validation workshop of the draft Gender Strategy in DRM that took place in Maputo in June, after a consultative process at the provincial level.
