This report is structured into five chapters, with each chapter building on the preceding one.
Chapter 1 provides a general background to the gender analysis, including how gender is
adversely impacted by climate-induced disasters and the purpose of the assignment.
Chapter 2 provides an understanding of Ghana’s Disaster Risk profile. This chapter provides context to the gender responsive emergency and disaster risk reduction management in Ghana.
Chapter 3 presents the methodological approach used in collecting data for this analysis.
Chapter 4 provides a review of relevant sector policies and frameworks highlighting gender integration efforts in these guiding documents. It maps the relevant stakeholders for gender mainstreaming efforts in O&E/DRM and presents results for both stakeholder engagement and field data collection.
Lastly, Chapter 5 presents the key findings, conclusions and recommendations.
